Samsung, the leading electronics brand, partnered with Smartzer to host a live shopping series on the Samsung websites in Central America. The monthly live shopping events are 60 minutes long, featuring a selection of the latest products. The live shopping events are hosted by experts talking through each new product in detail, giving viewers the ability to purchase the items at a discounted rate during the live shopping event.

Samsung also offers viewers to win prizes by asking them to enter their Instagram handles in the comments field for a chance to win. Smartzer's live video shopping technology was used to add interactive elements such as live comments with nicknames, shoppable products and likes functionality to the live stream. The live shopping event also featured an instant add-to-cart functionality for a seamless shopping experience.

GOAL

Samsung wanted to elevate their online presence and customers digital experience by hosting a monthly live shopping event that promoted new products and discovery. The live shopping show was an opportunity for potential customers to ask their questions in real-time with experts able to reply immediately and demonstrate the products.

Execution

During the live shopping show, viewers could explore and shop the collection through the product carousel, as well as click on the featured items highlighting products on the stream in real time. The live event also featured a live comments functionality where viewers could write comments and ask the host questions in real time.

Results

With the type of product on show, interactive live shopping is a great way to promote product discovery for tech type products. With real-time comments, experts are able to answer questions quickly for viewers to make informative decision during their purchasing journey.
