French Connection UK wanted to offer a new way for their customers to interact with their brand through the increasingly popular live shopping format.

The key goals for offering live shopping on their e-commerce site were to inspire and engage their customers, showcase the latest collection and to drive conversion.

Execution

French Connection UK partnered with Smartzer to enable live shopping on their Shopify e-commerce store. An integration was built for a bespoke live shopping experience complete with shoppable products, instant Add-to-cart, likes and ability to send comments and ask questions. The experience was fully branded to match the rest of the French Connection e-commerce.

During the live shopping event, viewers were able to see details for the featured shoppable products in real time, add products directly to their shopping cart and engage through comments and likes. The live shopping also featured a special discount code to encourage shopping.

Results

The live shopping event showed strong results with 55% of viewers interacting with shoppable products or through social interactions.

10% of the views of the live shopping event resulted in a product being added to the cart through the instant add-to-cart functionality of the live shopping player.

The live shopping event also proved a positive impact on conversion with a conversion rate 3x above the average site conversion.
